The Remnant’s Legacy

Publish Year: 2021

Author: Michael Shuffield

Synopsis

Canaan has fallen to the Hebrews. Israel’s legacy now rests on the shoulders of the settlers.

Once the land was divided among the Israelites, Nephtali’s tribe settled in northern Israel. Moses, his wife Hannah, and her family established themselves along the shores of Galilee, where Moses spent years relentlessly educating his people and repelling the Canaanite attacks on their settlement.

In his later years, Moses passes the torch to his nephew, Seth, to protect and continue the legacy of their people by recording Israel’s history. Seth tells of his uncle’s early years in the desert, the legends he personally knew that are mere shadows to others, and the struggles to take Canaan and settle the promised land.

Seth also writes about his grandfather, Asher, the Remnant Son, born a Canaanite but later converted to Judaism. Seth tells us of Asher’s life on his family’s farm before the Hebrews came, Ildab the fighter, and wicked King Jabin.

Seth builds on Moses’ already prosperous business as the local scribe and teacher. He gives us stories of the others who arrived with Moses and of Moses’ son, young Gideon, who lived years as a fighter and caravanner before returning home.

The stories Seth gives us pulls back the curtain on daily life in their compound and introduce us to new exciting characters, distant lands, and exotic creatures.

The Remnant’s Legacy is the third book in the Journeys of the Remnant Series by Michael Shuffield.
